BUDDHA

Once a person is caught by belief in a doctrine, one loses all one's freedom. When one
becomes dogmatic, that person believes his or her doctrine is the only truth and that all other doctrines are heresy.
Disputes and conflicts all arise from narrow views. They can extend endlessly, wasting precious time and sometimes even leading to war. Attachment to views is the greatest impediment
to the spiritual path. Bound to narrow views, one becomes so entangled that it is no longer possible
to let the door of truth open.

Watch your thoughts for they become words.
Watch your words for they become actions.
Watch your actions for they become habits.
Watch your habits for they become character.
Watch your character for it becomes your destiny.

Att. to many sources

I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing therefore that I can do now, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow-creature, let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again.

MARCO MORROW

It is a glorious privilege to live, to know, to act, to listen, to behold, to love.
To look up at the blue summer sky, to see the sun sink slowly beyond the line of the horizon,
to watch the worlds come twinkling into view, first one by one, and the myriads
that no man can count, and lo! the universe is white with them. And you and I are here.

SHENG-YEN

Be soft in your practice. Think of the method as a fine silvery stream,
not a raging waterfall.
Follow the stream, have faith in its course.
It will go its own way, meandering here, trickling there.
It will find the cracks, the crevices. Just follow it.
Never let it out of your sight. It will take you.

Our smile will bring happiness to us and to those around us. Even if
